Peyronie’s disease is a fibrotic disorder of the tunica albuginea of the penis. Urologists suggest Peyronie's disease is often a result from repetitive minor trauma to the tunica albuginea of the penis during intercourse or sexual activity.

It is characterized by different degrees of penile curvature and sexual dysfunction. The development
of the disease is best thought of as an response to wound healing resulting in scar formation,
deformity, and, not infrequently, diminished rigidity of the penis.
